Adam- You did grow up close to me. We lived in the hills above the Quito Fire Station and La Hacienda Inn (which I think is all condos now?).

Sounds like you made a nice life for yourself. As for money, I’ve witnessed the entire spectrum (especially in my law enforcement career). I visited the homes of many wealthy people with drug/alcohol problems, relationship problems and drama. So money doesn’t assure happiness. Of course, I saw the same problems with lower income folks too.

I think the key is to focus on your health, family and a career you enjoy. Money may be nice, but quality time with the ones you love, instead of keeping up with the Joneses, will likely make you happier.
