Arianna- There’s nothing wrong with exploring many areas. Sometimes we don’t yet know what our calling might be. Even more frustrating, our callings can change over time.

In my twenties, I was excited to enter the field of law enforcement. I grew up watching police shows, and thought police work would be exciting, challenging, honorable, and allow me to help people. All of which came true.

But then, the novelty wore off a little. I saw the shortcomings of the criminal justice system, not to mention the shortcomings of humanity. A bit of cynicism crept in. The muse in me, my creative side, started to whisper.

And so, I retired five years early, to become a full-time writer and artist. I had other callings, to be a musician and martial artist, but my talents were stronger in writing and fine art.

Hang in there, you’ll find your way!
