Beautifully expressed. I think it’s good to acknowledge and recognize how your life is shaped by loved ones and those who came before you. But, I think the individual matters too. Have YOU really “created nothing”? Are all your accomplishments really just “channeling communal energy”? My sense is that those who influenced and shaped us, even the spirit of our ancestors, may always be with us. But we have our own unique contributions, too. Our part to play, independent of the echoes of the past. Thanks for this thoughtful poem.
