Hi Danny, thanks for reading and some great points. In my response to Christopher I noted: “Epstein’s book ‘Range’ makes a good case for ‘breadth’ over ‘depth’ of experiences and education, but I don’t completely buy that late specialization is better than early specialization. Some skills take years of training and development, and not everyone has the time or income to focus on many disciplines before mastering one.”

I know someone who is very versatile and explores many disciplines. She is fascinating to talk to, and quite knowledgeable. But she’s still struggling to make a good living because none of her skills are specialized or “rare and valuable” enough to get her ahead. Of course, everyone has an anecdote. You’re a good example of a polymath who is successful.
